Polka Mike has been bringing traditional polka music to the area since 1973. Starting out in DuBois, PA with The Ben Fingers Polka Party, he spent 14 wonderful years before moving on to his present location in Punxsutawney, PA. Since September 15, 1988 his show has been heard across the air waves of WECZ AM 1540 "The Groundhog" every Sunday from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Mike received an award from Polish Bill & Deb Marano for outstanding Promotion of Polka Music. He has also received many citations, including Capital City Polka Assoc. of Harrisburg, PA. for Promotion Of Polka music, as well as Valley Wholesale & Supply of Rural Valley, PA. for outstanding Promotion as a sponsor. Al Petrof of Clymer, Pa. says Polka Mike & Phil are #1 in Clymer, PA. and his picture hangs in the AM studio.
